Let’s talk about the cost of braces..

K_affordingbraces_big

Many folks these days enjoy the benefits of braces- a beautiful, healthy smile for a lifetime. Here at Raleigh Orthodontics, it’s our mission to provide you with affordable, personalized and highly experienced specialty orthodontic care that fits your budget!

We offer a variety of payment options to meet your financial needs.

The Cost of Braces

Let’s start with the typical fee, say $5635, for full braces lasting about 18 to 24 months. This fee will include all the planning needed at the beginning, all the braces and adjustments, plus retainers when the braces come off. You may elect to pay a typical initial payment of 15% to 25 %, then spread the remaining amount over 18 months. We are very flexible in how payments are structured so we allow initial payments as low as 5% to 10% as well. We will help you fit the fee into your budget so you can get the care you need for your child or yourself. If paying the whole fee at the beginning we apply a 5% fee reduction for simplifying our bookkeeping.

Insurance Coverage for Braces

We participate In-Network with the following insurance companies:
MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Sheild, Ameritas, Cigna, Humana, United Concordia and The Guardian.

Here at Raleigh Orthodontics we are very experienced working with these and many other insurance companies. This means we’ll file for your insurance coverage and apply the expected coverage amount to the fee, reducing the costs to you. Keep your coverage active during the whole time of treatment to take advantage of this benefit. We will determine the level of your coverage and explain it to you at your first visit.

Affordable Braces

We pay special attention to features of care that keep costs down. In addition to using your insurance coverage for braces, we use advanced materials and techniqus to keep the care visits to a minimum while still keeping highest quality care our main goal.

In the end, the benefits of our personalized, highly experienced specialty orthodontic care outweigh the costs. You can expect to have teeth that are easier to keep clean, won’t wear down because of a poor bite, and that allow a big, bright beautiful smile that boosts confidence and makes smiling a joy.

If you have any questions about financing or payments, ask us! We’ll thoroughly explain your choices and make sure we accommodate your needs. Give us a call at 919-847-6364 and visit us at RaleighOrthodotics.com. See you soon!

When is Best Age for Your Child’s First Orthodontic Visit?

Dr. Bert Kelling Orthodontic Visit

Dr. Bert Kelling

Dr. Bert Kelling, of Raleigh Orthodontics believes there is much more to taking care of your children’s teeth than teaching them how to brush, and taking them to the dentist. Most parents realize that getting their children to begin brushing and flossing, as well as getting their teeth professionally cleaned, are key elements of modern preventive oral hygiene, but beyond that, is there anything else you should be doing?

What many families don’t fully appreciate is the importance of getting their children examined by an orthodontist at an early age, in addition to their regular dental check-up. While many parents think that such an exam is only about getting braces for their children’s teeth, there is really much more to this type of dentistry than meets the eye.

Raleigh Orthodontics

Raleigh Orthodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on the physical alignment of the teeth and jaw. And while the main tools of an orthodontist are braces, retainers, and a number of other mechanisms – the goal of this dental specialist is much more than just creating a pretty smile.

Orthodontic techniques, such as braces and expanders, are principally designed to correct problems that prevent proper eating, sleeping, and speaking. The fact is that when your teeth or jaws are not lined up correctly, this can impact how they chew, talk, sleep – and yes – smile.

The conditions that orthodontists look to correct most frequently include overcrowded teeth, overbites, underbites and cross bites. Some are tooth related and some have to do with jaw growth. Any one of these problems, can lead to headaches, poor mastication, snoring, and even pronounced susceptibility to decay from teeth that are difficult to reach while brushing.

When to Begin Orthodontic Exams
Even for parents who are aware of the importance of braces and orthodontic care, the question of when their children should first begin such treatment still causes a good deal of confusion. Should parents wait until their children begin to exhibit conditions such as crooked teeth, or complain of tooth positioning problems – or should they act much sooner?

Dr. Bert Kelling and most orthodontists agree that a child’s first exam should occur sometime around their 7th birthday. This enables the orthodontist to spot issues requiring treatment early, and to set up an effective treatment routine to address them.

Based on his exam and findings, Dr. Bert Kelling can recommend anything from no treatment at all, to the use of expanders, or braces. The goal of each of these procedures is to get the teeth to line up correctly and create a healthy environment for the eruption of future teeth. This allows for both comfortable eating, and healthy jaw alignment.

Proper orthodontic care for your children starts early, but pays dividends by catching potential costly problems before they develop. And the fact that orthodontic treatments like braces and retainers also result in gorgeous smiles, is an added – and very welcome bonus.

At Raleigh Orthodontics, we take great smiles personally.
